About the Conference
Conference
As Australia is host of APEC in 2007, the role of staging the Annual Conference of APEC Centres rests with the Australian APEC Study Centre at Monash University.
The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade is sponsoring this conference, an official activity of the APEC Australia 2007 ™ schedule, which brings together network members from 21 Asia-Pacific economies.
The aims of the conference are to:
- deliver a forum where the Study Centre network can address policy issues relevant to APEC
- engage the business community to address risks and opportunities in APEC
- facilitate a peer network that brings together academia, government and the private sector
The Australian APEC Study Centre
The Australian APEC Study Centre at Monash University forms part of the
international network of Study Centres located
throughout the Asia-Pacific. The Centre works to
inform the broader Australian community through research, training and conferences of the growing
importance of trade integration, economic progress
and relations in the region. more
