business, not-for-profits and academic institutions.
Activities
We offer a boutique project management function and specialise in capacity building across APEC economies.
Through the development, design and project management of workshops, dialogues, events and online courses, we provide skill development and training in key areas to allow people and businesses across the region to more actively participate in the growing Asia Pacific economy.
These capacity building activities are one of the major ways the Australian Government engages with government officials in the Asia Pacific region. Our programs help foster collaboration and common understanding on issues that have mutually beneficial outcomes for the people and industries of the Asia Pacific.
We also have a special focus on women’s economic empowerment and run an APEC Women in Research Fellowship program to support women researchers in developing countries, along with a number of other gender inclusion projects.
Our Annual Lecture and business outreach activities allow us to inform and seek feedback from the business community on the most pressing trade and development issues relevant to Australia and the Asia Pacific.
