The Australian APEC Study Centre has created an extensive list of resources that brings together academia, the public sector and independent agencies and think-tanks associated with APEC and market liberalisation. This list should not be considered exhaustive.

Official APEC sites

APEC Secretariat
This is the key site for all official APEC bodies and activities. It includes all APEC publications and a calendar of APEC and related events.

APEC Study Centre (ASC) Consortium
Details of the network of Study Centres across the 21 member economies is available here.

ABAC (APEC Business Advisory Council)
The Council, consisting of three representatives from each economy provides advice to APEC L eaders and other fora.

APEC Energy Working Group
APEC's work on regional energy cooperation.

APEC Telecommunications Working Group
The APEC Telecommunications Working Group (TEL)  address the issues of human resource development, technology transfer telecommunications standardisation.

APEC Trade Promotion Working Group
The WGTP’s work centres on trade promotion activities, trade financing, trade skills and training, trade information and networking business cooperation between the private sector and public agencies.

APEC Transportation Working Group
The APEC Transportation Working Group (TPT-WG) fosters economic development in the Asia-Pacific region through recommendations to increase the efficiency of the regional transportation system.

APEC Industrial Science and Technology Working Group
This site contains a directory of organisations, discussion forums and a calendar of events relating to science and technology activities in APEC and its member economies.

APEC Tourism Working Group
Contains information about past, present and future activities of the ATWG as well as a directory of contacts

APEC HR Development Working Group
The Human Resources Development working group (HRDWG) conducts work programs to develop human resources on issues ranging from education to labour, and capacity building.

APEC Labour Market Indicators Database
Initiated by the HRD Working Group, this site contains statistics on economic structure, demography, education and training and labour force in APEC economies.

APEC Working Group on Agricultural Technical Cooperation
The ATC’s work program focuses on seven priority areas to enhance the role of agriculture in contributiong to the region's economic and social well being.

APEC Subcommittee on Customs Procedures
Includes updates of "Blueprint for APEC Customs Modernization"

APEC Center for Technology Foresight
The APEC Center for Technology Foresight is a Center established and supported by APEC, hosted at Thailand’s National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA).

APEC Center for Technology Exchange and Training for Small and Medium Enterprises
The ACTETSME web site contains information on APEC activities of interest to small business.

APEC Tariff Database
This site provides member access to a full range of tariff information concerning APEC economies.

Global and Regional Organisations

World Trade Organization (WTO)
Set up at the end of the Uruguay Round, the WTO administers the multilateral trading system. The site contains information and analysis of global trade issues.

ASEANWEB
The official site of the Association of South East Asian Nations. It contains information about the political and security aspects of ASEAN as well as the ASEAN Free Trade Area (AFTA).

Asian Development Bank
Statistics and information about research relating to development issues in Asia.

Pacific Economic Cooperation Council
PECC is a partnership of business, government and research representatives from 23 Asia Pacific economies who work on policy issues to increase trade, investment and economic development in the region.

World Bank
The Bank's site contains information on and research reports on international development issues.

Trade and International Integration (a World Bank program)
A major function of this research program is to address trade issues that are of global importance such as the WTO and the impact of regional integration agreements. Background, working and completed papers are all available.

International Monetary Fund
The IMF site contains many publications about international economic and financial issues.

Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development
The OECD is an association of developed countries. The site contains information relevant to developed and developing countries.

Australian Committee of the Pacific Economic Cooperation Council (AUSPECC) PECC is a partnership of business, government and research representatives from 23 Asia Pacific economies who work on policy issues to increase trade, investment and economic development in the region.

North South Institute
A Canadian body which researches and analyses international development issues.

Asia Studies
Asia-Studies Full-text Online is a database for the study of modern Asia-Pacific.  Asia Studies brings together thousands of full-text reports covering over 50 countries on a range of business, government, economic, and social issues.

The IPA is an independent, non-profit public policy think tank, dedicated to the free flow of capital, a limited and efficient government, the rule of law, and representative democracy.

The Australia Institute
The Australia Institute is an independent public policy research centre funded by grants from philanthropic trusts, memberships and commissioned research.

Lowy Institute for International Policy

Centre for Strategic Economic Studies

Cato Center for Trade Policy Studies
The mission of the Center includes an aim to increase public understanding of the benefits of free trade and the costs of protectionism. The Development Gateway is an interactive portal for information and knowledge sharing on sustainable development and poverty reduction. Search APEC LIT

The Australian APEC Study Centre has compiled APEC LIT, a bibliography of published materials about APEC. It includes material published by the APEC Secretariat, APEC Study Centres, research institutes, academics, government departments and in selected journals. Many of the documents are available electronically and where possible hyperlinks are provided to a full text or abstract.

Please note that links to items remain effective only as long as they are preserved by the originating website. In some cases an item may be moved to an archive site, or the site may be re-organized. In others it can be found by searching the site of the original source, as indicated by the URL address shown on the "page cannot be found" message.
