Our Network
Our network is wide, influential and diverse.​

It allows us to collaborate with business, academia and government both in Australia and internationally to advance Australia’s trade and development priorities  and achieve positive outcomes across the Asia Pacific.

Business
We are instrumental in advocating for, and sharing the voice of, Australian business in the APEC region.
As Secretariat to Australia’s APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC), we support our Australian ABAC members, and the business community as a whole, to ensure their feedback is taken into consideration at a regional level.
Our aim is to improve regional business conditions and achieve the best outcomes for Australian industry through policy development recommendations and action.
Academia
​
Working within RMIT University, we have a wide network of specialist Asia Pacific trade, economic and development academics, both in Australia and internationally.
We call on these renowned academic experts to collaborate on research and policy development activities and share their expertise at capacity building workshops.
As the AASC, we also form part of a wider consortium of APEC study centres across the Asia Pacific. We are a leader in regional collaboration and oversee multilateral research projects, including supporting Papua New Guinea to establish its first APEC study centre in 2017.
Our role as the Secretariat for Australia’s Pacific Economic Cooperation Council (AusPECC) further strengthens our academic network, allowing us to combine the interests of academia, business and government to create practical policy outcomes for Australia in the Asia Pacific.

Alumni
To date, over 2,000 people from across the Asia Pacific have participated in at least one of our capacity building activities.
We maintain ongoing dialogue with our alumni on trade and development issues across the Asia Pacific. This allows us to remain networked with current and future policy makers across the region, ensuring we continue to influence positive and sustainable change.

Our partners, including government, help us deliver strong impacts across all of our activities.
