Policy and Research - Women and Trade in Services

Effective policy action depends on strong evidence. This section provides access to policy briefs, analytical studies, and thematic notes developed under APEC initiatives on women and services trade.

The resources cover both the structural drivers of women’s participation in services trade and the policy and regulatory settings that can enable change. Particular attention is given to the fast-growing area of high-skill digitally delivered services, where women’s participation has the potential to improve the quality of employment for women, increase their earnings, and expand their economic agency — but where gaps in skills, finance, networks, and market access remain persistent.

All research materials in this section are intended to support APEC economies in designing and implementing reforms aligned with APEC’s commitments to inclusive growth and the advancement of women’s economic empowerment, including under the La Serena Roadmap for Women and Inclusive Growth (2019–2030).
