About me:

My name is Quynh Dang, and after nearly a decade in corporate leadership roles across HR, digital transformation, and culture building, I returned to my roots to take on the role of General Manager at ELLAC — a family-owned powdered milk business with a 23-year legacy. What started as a small, resilient business run by my mother after a difficult chapter in our family has now become a trusted name, serving more than 500 kindergartens across Vietnam. I grew up with ELLAC — it nurtured me through childhood, education, sports, and early motherhood — and today, I am proud to be leading its transformation. From adopting international standards like ISO 22000:2018 and HACCP to launching new, nutritious product lines and building a stronger online presence, ELLAC is now on a path of sustainable, mission-driven growth. The milk powder and dairy industry is highly competitive — not only due to the dominance of well-established brands, but also because of the ongoing threat from counterfeit products that endanger consumer health and trust. I am proud that ELLAC stands out as one of the few SME brands in the market that upholds integrity while maintaining a strong financial foundation for a sustainable future. However, as a humble SME, we continue to face challenges — while our brand is well-known among suppliers and kindergarten partners, it remains largely unfamiliar to the general public. We are stronger in B2B than in B2C. I am now on a mission to carve out a new path for our company. In Vietnam, small and family-run businesses are often perceived as unreliable or unprofessional — and I want to challenge and change that perception. During a recent trip to Australia, I was deeply inspired by the culture of family businesses and their approach to customer service — I sensed great pride, strong ethics, and a mature working culture that I hope to instill in my own family business and inspire across other SMEs as well. Through this program, I hope to connect with fellow purpose-driven entrepreneurs, gain fresh perspectives on scaling impact businesses, and equip myself with the tools needed to accelerate ELLAC’s journey in brand building and market expansion.

About me:

My name is Mo (Lucy) Nguyen, Founder and Director of ABROADER - an organization specialized in international education providing programs abroad in Vietnam such as internships, customized study tours, semester exchange for foreign students. I graduated from Hanoi University of Science and Technology, and haven't done any MBA course. In 2014, after seeing foreign people, especially young people do not know much about Vietnam, and Vietnamese people who are like me do not have much chance to go abroad, I decided to quit my job and opened this company to bridge the cultural gaps and create global learning opportunities. From the day of foundation, we have hosted students from 30 countries and supported around 2000 local Vietnamese students with international exposure, and many of them secured scholarships to realize their dream of studying abroad. As shared, I started the business with my passion without any knowledge about Marketing, business administration, finance management... What we achieved now is the combination of luck, hard-working and strong commitment from the team and whoever joined ABROADER from day 1. Joining this program is a huge opportunity for me to learn exactly what I am lack of: how to jump into  a new market, nail the way of working with others, speak in their "language" with a limited budget and from a distance.  Joining this program is not just an opportunity for me to learn but an opportunity to give back to my community by helping Vietnam have better name on international education map and helping more Vietnamese students achieve their dreams of going abroad.

About me:

My name is Huong Luu, Founder and CEO of Grandma Lu’s – a Vietnamese Banh Mi brand born from a deep love for my grandmother and the flavors of my childhood. As a passionate entrepreneur, I’m committed to elevating Vietnamese food on the global stage by innovating banh mi in a way that stays true to its cultural roots while embracing creativity and modern relevance.

About My Business:

Grandma Lu’s is on a mission to make banh mi as globally recognized and beloved as the hamburger. What makes our brand unique is the way we combine tradition with creativity, constantly innovating with diverse and localized flavor profiles while keeping Vietnamese taste at the core. We believe that banh mi has the potential to reflect the identity and richness of Vietnam’s regional ingredients, and we aim to elevate it into a globally respected cuisine. More than just food, Grandma Lu’s shares a story of love and legacy. Every banh mi we craft carries the warmth and care of a grandmother’s love, reminding people that food can be both nourishing and emotionally meaningful. Our products are designed to be healthy, accessible, and full of character, bringing Vietnamese culture to the world in a truly personal way.

My Expectations of the Program:

Through the APEC Women’s Business Activator program, I hope to gain strategic insights, expand my international network, and sharpen my roadmap for global expansion. My goal is to bring banh mi to cities around the world, not only as a convenient and wholesome meal, but also as a cultural ambassador that shares the story of Vietnamese identity, creativity, and love.
