Aaron Soans
Aaron Soans joined the APEC Study Centre in February 2017 as a
Research Fellow specialising in trade and development.
Previously Aaron worked as an economist with the OECD Development Centre in Paris focusing on regional integration and economic development in Southeast Asia, China and India. He has also worked as a consultant with the United Nations in Bangkok where he contributed to research on trade policy and private sector development.

Aaron’s research has been published in reports for international organizations as well as in academic journals. He co-authored a report for the UN on the Myanmar Business Survey, he also contributed to the UN’s Asia-Pacific Trade and Investment Report and the OECD’s Economic Outlook for Southeast Asia, China and India. His academic articles have been published in the Journal of Asian Economics and the Journal of International Trade and Economic Development.
