APEC-Australia Women in Research
Dr Fatimah Abdul Razak
Home Economy: Malaysia
Host Institution: University of Western Australia
Project Title: Enhancing Pandemic Preparedness: Modelling Control Measures and Population Interactions with Networks
Project Outline: We aim to simulate epidemic spread in Selangor and construct mobility networks using real Selangor data. The research goal is to create a model that represents non-homogeneous interactions through a Selangor mobility network.
Reasons for applying for fellowship: I am looking forward to learning how to simulate large scale epidemic spread as well as how to incorporate mobility data into the simulations. Moreover, as the Head of Industry and Community Partnerships of my Faculty, I would like to learn the strategies of effective collaborations with industries and communities.
