Home Economy: Malaysia

Host Institution: University of Western Australia

Project Title: Enhancing Pandemic Preparedness: Modelling Control Measures and Population Interactions with Networks

Project Outline: We aim to simulate epidemic spread in Selangor and construct mobility networks using real Selangor data. The research goal is to create a model that represents non-homogeneous interactions through a Selangor mobility network.

Reasons for applying for fellowship: I am looking forward to learning how to simulate large scale

epidemic spread as well as how to incorporate mobility data into the simulations. Moreover, as the Head of Industry and Community Partnerships of my Faculty, I would like to learn the strategies of effective collaborations with industries and communities.

Past Achievements:

  • Member: Young Scientists Network - Academy of Sciences Malaysia, Asian Network of Complexity Scientists, Complex Systems Society.
Executive Committee of the East Asia Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (EASIAM).

  • Fellow of the CEO@Faculty Program (CFP), during which she spent 6 months with Maybank, Malaysia's largest bank.
